Latest study into BETA-Alanine
In essence it shows 3 main things:
1) Carnosyn tablets provide the same Bio-Equivalent Beta-Alanine as the powder.
2) It does the above in a way that allows more Beta-Alanine to be absorbed.
3) It also does it in a way that prevents Parasthesia (Tingling sensations).

WARNING
We have seen a few alarming cases of beta alanine ethyl ester HCl advertised for sale on the internet. Whilst it may seem that this is a new form of beta alanine, we must draw your attention to the safety data of this unnatural product.
Sigma Aldrich, one of the major global pharmaceutical and chemical suppliers, states on its own website Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), the following:
Carnosine and related compounds in other species.
Two related derivatives of carnosine: anserine and balenine, are found in muscle of some animal species (but not human). There is a close relationship between the ecology of a species and the histidine dipeptide content of muscle.
Within muscle there are 3 types of muscle cell (or "fibre") that differ in power output and fuel selection.
Type 1: Slow twitch, oxidative fibres. These are adapted to derive energy efficiently from carbohydrate and fats through complete aerobic oxidation. These are muscle fibres 'recruited' and utilised for lower power requirements and are the main fibre type used for such functions as maintaining posture and slower movement.
Largely the studies on beta-alanine have been done with male test subjects. However, Dr. Jeff Stout and colleagues tested the effects of 28 days supplementing with CarnoSyn® beta-alanine, and published their results in 2007. Not only is this study interesting because female subjects were involved, but also because the study looked at sub-maximal exercise, which is the type of training a large proportion of the 'Keep-Fit' sector regularly does.
In published studies (e.g. R. Harris et al., 2006) beta-alanine powder measured out at 20mg per kg body weight (bwt) caused "significant symptoms" of uncomfortable paraesthesia tingling with 50% of the test volunteers, and at 40mg per kg bwt caused unpleasant paraesthesia responses in all instances reported by volunteers. This lasts up to 1 hour until the blood-plasma concentration falls to acceptable levels.
Absorption without paraesthesia
The CarnoSyn® Beta-Alanine tablet is the new, patented, controlled-release form. Consider it the second generation.
Our CarnoSyn® Beta-Alanine tablets are designed to release beta-alanine over several hours - something you can't get with capsules or powders. Because of the sustained release the intense paraesthesia caused by powders is virtually removed.
To understand the role of CarnoSyn® which supplies beta-alanine, we need to review the role of carnosine and then find the connection between this and beta-alanine.
CarnoSyn® supplies you with beta-alanine. This is a natural beta amino acid needed by the body to build carnosine, and this is why you benefit from CarnoSyn®.
Carnosine is variously described as a hydrogen ion buffer, H+ buffer, acid buffer or lactic acid buffer. But what does this mean and how does it work?
